Looking to get a new hand gun for conceal carry.Any suggestions? I was looking at the Glock 26 but don't like how my pinky hangs off the grip. But love the gun itself.I have a Glock 19X Gen 5.Got it cause it fit great and I could do fast mag exchanges in Tac training. Also it matches my AR- Pistal .300 blackout. But it is not for conceal carry, printing is bad.Sorry getting off subject can talk guns and Tac training for days. A good conceal carry Hand gun? Opinions please?

I own guns, raised in a household with guns, and been hunting since I was about 10....but never really felt the need or desire to talk about my guns, just wasn't raised to do so. But have no problem with others who are more into the community aspect of gun culture....to each their own.

That said, I do like asking others for their recommendations and reviews. I am looking into buying a .22 break barrel air rifle to use for small pest issues (mainly gophers and rabbits) on my property and also thought it would be a nice entry level gun for my niece and nephew to start learning on when they come visit with my brother. Does anyone own a Gamo Swarm Magnum? If so, would you recommend it and is it worth the higher price tag or can I get similar quality air rifle for less, something like a Beeman Kodiak combo that would allow for switching between .22 and .177 barrels and cost about $100 less? Or anything else you would recommend? Anything that has accuracy and tight grouping within 30-50 yards is really all I need for what I'm wanting to use it for.

Also, any recommendations on a biometric handgun safe for the nightstand? Is Vaultek the way to go or is there a brand that you like better? In general, I've never been very impressed with Sentry Safe products so probably wouldn't go that route. Billconch is another brand that I've been looking at.

I've been battling gophers for several years and finally found a product that works!!!
https://www.traplineproducts.com/

They have gopher, mole and vole products. The peanut butter trick seems to work. And buy the knife. It helps remove a plug rather than ripping up your field/lawn with a shovel. Fwiw, I had some success with the GopherHawk but these simple traps from trapline are a blessing. Just watch the video on the site and you're good to go.

I've never been a vocal member of the gun community or a true collector either, but was raised around them and have hunted and shot for sport more-or-less my entire life; though admittedly less than I'd like to lately. I'm impressed with some of the knowledge and cool **** you all have.

As of now, I've got a small collection of mostly utilitarian weapons. We keep an S&W MP .40 at home and it's a fantastic handgun. I can't remember who the other pheasant hunter on here was, but I too will dabble occasionally, I shoot a Franchi Instinct 12 ga for pheasant but also have a trusty A300 that's mostly a duck gun and it's a damn tank.

FWIW the A300 is maybe the best money I've spent on a sporting gun. It's durable, reliable, easy to maintenance, and easy on the pocketbook. Anyone looking into getting into waterfowl or upland birds and not looking to break the bank, I'd highly recommend.

If you are a Glock guy, has to be a Glock, the 43X is what I would do, 10 stack, Newer micro compact. Great, I mean GREAT balance. Personally i like/LOVE SIG, so i went with the P365, but am still going to pick up the 43X at some point.

Thank you, I will take a look at it.I always have preferred the dbl stack mags just cause it holds more ammo but I could see myself carrying the Glock 43X.I have heard great things about sig.

Sig is a superior product IMHO but Glocks are a solid platform. I know several people that like the Springfield XD series for CC. Others say they like the S&W M&P compacts for carry as well. Not real impressed with the Ruger lines TBH. They seem kinda cheap and not sure I would trust my life to something that cheap feeling, but again it is just my opinion. There are some others like Walther that make a quality product as well. There are others and there are some great wheel gun (revolvers) out there in both hammer fire and non-hammer fire that are reliable and controllable

A lot of gun ranges now let you rent firearms to try out before you buy if you purchase the house ammo and is a great way to compare fit and feel and recoil/control before you plunk down your hard earned pay.

Stay away from Remington pistols especially- pure junk. I would stay away from alot of FN Herstal and Taurus (again MY opinion) and lesser brands like that.

My number one carry weapon is my Sig Sauer P229. In .40, altho I am eyeballing the .357 barrel. Mags carry both and my son had a .357 Sig and when that thing cracked off the first time I heard it it really surprised me with how hard it sounded! Same same as a .357 mag in an auto loader?
Yes please!!!

I have the Sig P229 .357. Love it!
Also recently purchased a Sig P365 micro 9mm that i really like.

Have a custom built AR15 with a Vortex Strike Eagle scope, and a tactical flashlight with infared cover for night vision with Magpul grips and sling. Vcm angle foregrip. Hammers nails, love shooting that gun.

Home defense i have a Mossberg500 Scorpion Tactical with a Sig Sauer Romeo5 red dot. Adjustable stock, dual side saddle loads. Recently bought a keymod magpul pump for vertical grip. Stagger loads, first rock salt, second buck, third Slug.
Will have a Tactical flashlight on it soon.

Building a 9mm race gun with Holographic sight now.
Caught the fever

I love love Sig Sauer!!! CANNOT go wrong with a Sig IMO. What did you do to your AR to customize it? Always curious about other builds. I will break Mine down when I get puppy a bit more stable around here. Got quite a bit to say coming up on a bunch of stuff actually

That shotty I posted pics of is a Mossy also... 500 Persuader and I put that tactical stock on it nut it rides too high on my cheekbone for my tastes. It is an ATI and was an impulse buy and it will do til I find better. Perhaps something from Magpul or someone else.

So what is this 9mil race gun thing all about? Gotta admit you got me curious/

Glad you all are here on this thread. Been a dream of mine to start something like this for quite a long time, and y'all are doing this like champions!!!

I agree with this. I have a few subcompact 9's . LC9, XDs, Shield, Kimber and a G43. I prefer the Glock 43 but the Shield is a close 2nd. The thing about Glocks are their reliability. They are the AK47 of the handgun world. You can put a ton of rounds through them before needing a clean. Some people feel that they shoot better dirty. They are ugly and a bit loose but I've grown to love those attributes. The 42 and 43 are a much smaller platform but they shoot just like their full frame models. I love that familiarity of feel no matter the caliber and frame. That is what made me a Glock homer.

I have never got the whole "Glocks are ugly" thing. I've shot many and they are a fine weapon. Honestly they are tighter than people say but that "looseness" I embrace in my Mossberg shotguns. Not sloppy, but not too tight. Hell the picture of my 500 persuader is basically one of the preferred methods of kicking down doors in Irag and Afghanistan. It's loose, but will function with sand and dust or even water in the action. Tried and true and reliable and I trust my life to that shotgun, no question about it.
Now I do have a strong preference for Sigs, but I will probably own a Glock down the line. Rather own Glocks than most other handguns tbh. The reputation is there and real.

If you are a Glock guy, has to be a Glock, the 43X is what I would do, 10 stack, Newer micro compact. Great, I mean GREAT balance. Personally i like/LOVE SIG, so i went with the P365, but am still going to pick up the 43X at some point.

Oh man this is on point. I need a new personal carry. I have been carrying a HK VP9 and love it but it's a little bulky. I've been trying to decide between a P365 (love the capacity), the Glock (never felt like Glocks were comfortable) or a Shield (crazy comfortable but crappy capacity).
I'm starting to look at the P365 for the same thing.

Picked up a Glock43x today
Do tell.

just got done shooting it. great balance, I was pretty accurate right out of the box. my boys absolutely love it. shot my AR out to 300 yards this morning. been 100 to 150 until today. good groups.
the Glock 43x has a little less "jump" than my sig365, but I shoot the 365 more accurate (much better sights tho).
truth be told I love them both.
great morning, breakfast and guns, YAHTZEE
