It seems odd that re-watching a 23-point loss would inspire hope, but that’s exactly what going through the Washington State film did for me. The defense played incredibly well in the first half, and if Herbert isn’t out with an injury, Oregon goes into halftime up by 14+. Now, short-term, this team is in trouble offensively, but that’s not particularly important. Long-term, Oregon will score points, and the defensive outlook is increasingly bright. On a yards per play basis, Oregon is 6th in the nation in rushing defense, and 14th overall.
