Pac-12 Ranks: Week 7

October 12, 2017

The Pac-12 continues to be one of the most ingtriguing conferences in college football. While the SEC is 'top heavy' in my mind. The Pac-12 is not.

Rather I could argue the Pac-12 is relatively competitive all the way down to No. 11. Oregon State is the only one really struggling to field a competitive team.

***The Juice - Key Recruiting Scoop***

There wasn't much by way of upsets last week in the conference. Which won't shift the rankings much, but there is a little movement in the middle and bottom half.

(Parentheses are last week's ranking.)

1. Washington (1) - What more can I say, they stay at the top as they keep winning. That said, who have they really beaten? To date this has been an absolute joke of a schedule. But as I've said before, pollsters don't care. Just win.

Up Next: @ ASU

2. Washington State (2) - Oregon fans are finally starting to join what I've been saying for weeks. These two teams are close, very close. The crash course to the Apple Cup looks to be primed for a key Pac-12 North battle.

Up Next: @ Cal

3. Stanford (3) - This team is playing some really good football. These three are a cut above everyone else, with Utah and USC inching closer and closer.

Up Next: Oregon

4. Utah (4) - They played Stanford tough to their credit. Only a 3-point loss lends merit to this team being just a step behind the top three.

Up Next: @ USC

5. USC (6) - They took care of business against Oregon State as they should. This week they have a big test in Utah and we'll see just how close these two really are. Remember, USC is that team no one wanted to play the last third of last season.

Up Next: Utah

6. Oregon (5) - Despite a turd of a week against Washington State, I still think the Ducks belong here. It's not going to be any easier this week against Stanford. But ASU and UCLA were off last week so I couldn't justify moving either up ahead of Oregon although I might have to next week.

Up Next: @ Stanford

7. Arizona State (7) - Bye week last week, but it's a big week against the Huskies this week.

Up Next: Washington

8. UCLA (8) - Also off last week but an intriguing matchup in Tucson will decide if they move next week.

Up Next: @ Arizona

9. Arizona (11) - A strong win over Colorado has moved them up. And Khalil Tate is playing great football right now. Let's see how they fare against Josh Rosen and the Bruins.

Up Next: UCLA

10. Colorado (9) - This is the second straight week I've moved Colorado down. This week they should rebound with a layup over the Beavs.

Up Next: @ Oregon State

11. Cal (11) - This is an improved team, but they have way too many holes to fill. There was no way they were beating UW last week and it doesn't get any easier against the Cougs this week.

Up Next: Washington State

12. Oregon State (12) - Well, let's see what Cory Hall can do with this team following the shocking decision by Gary Anderson to leave mid-season.

Up Next: Colorado
