Ducks Fall to Stanford

October 14, 2017

It started early and never let up for Oregon. The Ducks couldn't get going Saturday night against Stanford and couldn't catch up.

Stanford went up 14-0 with 10:37 left to go in the first quarter. It wouldn't get much better from there.

Braxton Burmeister would get into the end zone and bring the score 14-7.

From there, Stanford would run away. Literally.

On a 9 play, 71 yard touchdown drive, Stanford would go up 21-7 and keep climbing. The Ducks would have a punt blocked for a touchdown by Stanford. Pushing the lead 28-7.

Following the half, it would not get any better for Oregon.

A 9 play, 75 yard drive would result in another 7 for Stanford pushing the lead up to 35-7. It would keep rolling from there as the Cardinal rolled up touchdown and pushed the lead 42-7.

Stanford would keep it on Oregon and push the lead 49-7 late in the fourth quarter.

It didn't matter if Taylor Alie or Braxton Burmeister was at quarterback for Oregon. The Ducks would be stalled on offense.

Once again penalties were the issue. Oregon had 9 penalties for over 100 yards. By comparison Stanford had 2 penalties for 15 yards.

Stanford was without Bryce Love for the second half but that would not slow them down.
