Top Five: Washington

The Ducks had some pretty solid individual performances Saturday night. Unfortunately it resulted in a 38-3 loss to Washington but we still need to recognize those performances.

The real surprise was at linebacker where Jimmie Swain stole the show for Oregon. Surprisingly he was very strong all night in Seattle.

Additionally we hand out some awards for the offense despite only mustering up 3 points in the contest.

Here's the top five.

1. Jimmie Swain

Easy pick here and a welcome sight as well. Swain has not really lived up to the hype thus far in his college career though most had hoped he would be able to put it all togehter. He did on Saturday night in Seattle recording a team-high 13 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. If he can keep it up, it will be a huge boost to Oregon to close out the season.

2. Royce Freeman

He ran hard most of the night in a very physical game. 122 rush yards and a 5.1 yards per carry is very respectable against the Washington defense.Freeman was one of the two lone bright spots Saturday night on offense.

3. Brady Breeze

Where did Brady come from? After an extended absence, he's certainly made his presence felt on the field the past two weeks. The interception was one of the highlights of the night for Breeze who has brought a physical presence to the deep secondary.

4. Jake Hanson

I don't know that he's getting enough credit. Hanson is really doing a tremendous job in the center of the line. Early in the game Saturday night he was pushing the pile back and opening up a clean pocket for Burmeister. Crosby, Throckmorton and Lemieux have played well also, but it was time for Mr. Hanson to get recognized.

5. Jordon Scott

He pushes the pile and continues to force the play outside consistently. Scott is an absolute load and managed to record 5 tackles from the nose guard position, which is not an easy thing to do. I've really been pleased with the production from the defensive line all year and Scott is a big reason why.
