Inside the Numbers

November 18, 2017

There were several surprising numbers from the Oregon victory Saturday night. One of which includes the fact Oregon held Arizona to under 30 points in the game.

Equally as surprising was seeing Oregon put up 48 points in an offensive explosion. It's not all that surprising being as No. 10 was back, but still a welcome sight to many Duck fans.

A number of interesting stats from that game will raise a few eyebrows. Most notably Khalil Tate's rushing production, or lack thereof.

Let's dig right into a dozen of those numbers that grab our attention.

32 - Total rush yards for Tate on 14 carries. He averaged 2.3 YPC against Oregon.

7.1 - Royce Freeman's YPC. Which is pretty impressive considering he ran the ball 19 times.

166.9 - Justin Herbert's QBR. He was 14-21 for 235 and 1 interception and 1 touchdown.

74 - Charles Nelson's receiving yards which led all wideouts.

8.3 - Yards per play average for Oregon in the game. Arizona had a 4.1 yards per play average.

8-13 - Oregon's 3rd down conversion rate. Arizona was 6 of 15.

12 for 117 - Oregon's penalties in this one. Arizona was penalized 8 times for 94 yards.

588 - Total yards for Oregon. Arizona had 330 yards of total offense.

11 - Team-leading tackles by Troy Dye who also had 1.5 tackles for loss.

12 - Team-leading tackles by Collin Schooler for Arizona. He also had 3 tackles for loss.

2 - Pass breakups by Arrion Springs, Ugo Amadi and Deommodore Lenoir.

10 - YPC for Justin Herbert who had 4 rushes for 40 yards.
