Report: Taggart is Gone

December 5, 2017

Oregon is now in the coaching market.

Willie Taggart has elected to leave Oregon and accept a head coaching offer at Florida State. There had been smoke all week long regarding Taggart and FSU should Jimbo Fisher leave.

Reports are now surfacing he has accepted the position at FSU. Here is Bruce Feldman's tweet on his report of the news.

On Friday, Fisher took an offer to be the head coach at Texas A&M.

In his lone season at Oregon, Willie Taggart led the Ducks to a 7-5 record despite the loss of star quarterback Justin Herbert for 5 games.

Oregon currently has a top-ranked recruiting class that will now have an important decision to make. The Oregon administration will need to act quickly in order to preserve that class and also get this team ready for the bowl game later this month.
