Oregon Spring Football Practice #1

March 9, 2019

Spring practice for the University of Oregon Ducks football program has officially begun. Early Saturday morning the Ducks were in the Moshofsky Center getting in their first workout of the 2019-20 season, here is a quick breakdown of what I saw.

The first thing I noticed was that there were a few number changes in the off season most notably CJ Verdell went from #34 to #7, D.J. Johnson also switched to #7 from #44 and Daewood Davis went from #81 to #17.

Daewood Davis has also switched from offense to defense and will now be playing at cornerback for the 2019-20 season.

The media didn’t get to see much of practice, only the first 30 minutes, and a lot of it was warmups but the one thing that really stuck out to me was the energy in the Moshofsky Center. Like I said it was early in the morning on a Saturday and it was cold outside but you wouldn’t have been able to tell that from this team’s energy. You could hear coach Aaron Feld yelling before you could even see him and the music playing had players dancing and smiling during warm ups. It just really looked like this team was ready for the season to start.
