Oregon Football Recruiting

June 14, 2019

It’s two-fer Friday in Oregon football recruiting. Earlier in the day Oregon landed a big commitment from three-star running back Trey Benson, now they’ve scored on the defensive side of the ball as well.

This time Shadow Hills (Calif.) defensive end Jake Shipley‍ has made the decision to commit to Oregon. The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder has been on campus since Wednesday taking his official visit. Last weekend Shipley visited Washington and the Huskies were viewed as a slight favorite headed into this trip.

ASU, UCLA and others were also involved.

Shipley is the No. 1102 ranked recruit nationally in the 247Sports Composite. Despite the lower ranking he’s considered one of the top defensive line targets on the West coast.

The Ducks continue to widen their lead in the 247Sports ranking, almost doubling every other team in the conference, additionally tripling the score of USC’s current commit list.
