July Predictions: Montana

July 14, 2019

I’d really like to hype this one up. But I can’t.

No disrespect to Montana, but in no way should this game even be close by half. I gave Nevada some leeway due to being immediately after Auburn. Big game hangover and the chance they overlook Nevada a little.

I don’t think that will happen with Montana. Cristobal will have this team tuned up and I do believe Oregon fans will head to the exits early.

The plus side is this should give Oregon a chance to see good reps from Tyler Shough and some of the other backups that won’t redshirt this season. I know fans are excited to see Shough in live action reps and actually throw a football. I’m sure he’ll be somewhat limited but I still think this should be his most extended action.

There are a few players I doubt redshirt this season and those players will also benefit from the extended time. Again we’re talking about live football that can’t truly be duplicated in practice.

At this point, I do expect Oregon to be 3-0 and a very tough Stanford road trip on deck. Ideally the starters get to ice this one early and enjoy the second half from the sidelines.

No slow start for me in this one. Ducks roll for their biggest win of the season. It’s also my birthday so I’m sure that will be motivation enough.

60-12. Ducks.
