It’s only his second season but Jevon Holland has a lot of expectations entering 2019. He came in as a true freshman last season and made a big impact locking down a starting safety spot.

As Oregon looks to fill the spot next to him, Holland talked about his role in his second year and what he’s seeing from the new defense under Andy Avalos.

On Year Two:

“Not that things slow down, you just catch up and keep pace.”

On Safety Depth:

“It’s looking good. We got a lot of guys that can play. We have reliable depth.”

On Improving Year Two:

“Biggest thing is getting the plays down. Communication and flying to the ball. You can improve on all aspects of the game all of the time.”

On Handling Different Safeties:

“I try to communicate as much as possible with everyone. It doesn’t change that much.”

On Andy Avalos:

“He’s been great. Really high energy and energetic.”

What Fans Should Expect from the Defense:

“For them to be excited. Just be excited for the defense, it should be fun.”
