Practice Recap: 8.13

August 13, 2019

Oregon welcomed a few players back to the secondary after they missed some practice time last week. Junior cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was a full participant in pads, as well as true freshman Jamal Hill who had missed a few days. A big boost for the secondary with everyone now being almost back to full health in that unit.

Here’s the full list of players that weren’t participating in practice today: Senior defensive tackle Gary Baker, junior tight end Cam McCormick, senior offensive lineman George Moore, and freshman defensive tackle Miguel Nevarez.

Sophomore Kahlef Hailassie was in pads, but was getting his left ankle worked on it appeared. He was getting it wrapped, and was doing some light cardio during the times in which the media was allowed into practice.

The quarterbacks and wide receivers were doing a drill which consisted of a 25-30 yard over the back shoulder drill, in which there were a few overthrown balls which resulted in a few balls going through the fingertips of a couple of different wide receivers. However, freshman Mycah Pittman had a very nice snag where he had to really extend to grab the ball, and ended up making a great fingertip catch.

The offense was doing a drill that was a full speed play, but without the offensive line or any defense. Senior grad transfer Juwan Johnson slipped right as Herbert threw a dart 15 yards across the middle, resulting in a dropped pass. Other than the slip up, no Oregon wide receivers dropped a ball during this drill.

There was no 11 on 11 periods during the open viewing period for media.
