Oregon Football Recruiting

Recruits Galore in Eugene

October 11, 2019

Mario Cristobal and crew have loaded up tonight’s football game with recruits. It would appear what seemed like a tough night to get recruits on campus has turned into a positive.

The Ducks have a really strong contingent of official visitors as well as a few unofficials. There’s a lot of firepower in Eugene Friday night led by 5-Star defensive back Kelee Ringo.

For a more detailed look at each recruit, you can read Thursday’s Juice loaded with tons of scoop on all of the visitors.

Here’s a quick look at who all is in town and a quick note on each.

Official Visitors

Kelee Ringo‍  - DB - 5-Star - 6-2, 205

Ringo has visited Oregon previously this Spring for an unofficial visit. The 5-Star remains uncommitted but Texas and Georgia appear to be the threats in his recruitment. Oregon would like to take at least one more defensive back in this class.

Myles Slusher‍ - DB - 4-Star - 6-0, 180 (Committed to Oregon)

Slusher committed to Oregon in April but has visited Nebraska and Georgia. The Ducks are hoping to hold on to its prized safety commit which this visit could go a long ways toward doing.

Bennett Williams‍ - DB - 3-Star - 5-11, 195

Williams was a freshman all-american safety at Illinois but now plays at college of San Mateo in California. He’s primed to be an instant impact type of player at the next level and is close friends with current Duck Cyrus Habibi-Likio.

Johnny Wilson‍ - WR - 4-Star - 6-6, 220 (Committed to Oregon)

Oregon’s prize receiver is still being courted by a number of schools. There’s rumors of him considering other visits, Oregon is hoping to lock that down this weekend if possible. Wilson is a very valuable part of this 2020 class.

Jermaine Burton‍ - WR - 4-Star - 6-0, 190

Burton has been committed to LSU since April. Oregon wasn’t on his most recent top five list but managed to work him on campus. It’s big to have him with his teammate and Oregon commit Johnny Wilson. The two are killing it at Calabasas, where Oregon signed Mycah Pittman from a year ago.

Traeshon Holden‍ - WR - 4-Star - 6-3, 195

Holden is another stud wide receiver committed to an SEC program. The Bama commit has talked openly about Oregon since his visit this past Spring. Now at Narbonne (Calif.), Holden is good friends with Oregon commits Jared Greenfield and Anthony Beavers, both of which are visiting as well. Oregon also signed Jonah Tauanu’u last year from Narbonne.

Unofficial visitors

DB - Jared Greenfield‍ (Oregon Commit)

DB - Anthony Beavers (Oregon Commit)

OL - Jaylan Jeffers‍ (Oregon Commit)

ATH - Josiah Phillips

These are the main visitors for the weekend. There could be some stragglers or late additions. Greenfield and Beavers are both committed which should help Oregon recruit Traeshon Holden.

Jeffers is also from Saguaro (Ariz.) where Ringo plays.

Phillips is  a class of ‘23 standout that plays at Calabasas with Johnny Wilson and Jermaine Burton.

Also the mother and father of Penei Sewell are expected in for the game. They will not be bringing their son Noah to this game however.
