Marcus Arroyo Talks Washington Win

October 22, 2019

On Tuesday Oregon offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo met with media following the Ducks closed practice. His offense was a big reason the Ducks were able to climb back against Washington on Saturday and eventually secure the win.

With Oregon getting the much-needed win he talked about the halftime adjustments and finding a lot of trust in running back Cyrus Habibi-Likio to help Oregon secure the victory.

Below are the highlights with the video at the bottom.

On Halftime Adjustments:

“I thought the staff and ourselves talked through some really good adjustments in the second half. Some stuff they were doing. They reacted well and guys responded it was really good to see our guys finish that game off with the adjustments and got back to the right style of football.”

On Habibi-Likio’s Expanded Role:

“I think that question answers itself. We’ve developed a trust in Cyrus. The last few weeks have been indicative of his work. “

On Wazzu’s Defense:

“They’re a unique defense. They do some things with the players they’ve got that are good. It’s a unique scheme. They do a nice job and we’ve got our hands full this week. It’s a moving front.”

On WSU’s New DC:

“The DC that left a few weeks ago and now there’s a new guy that’s calling it. They probably won’t full-sell change anything. But I’m sure there’s some adjustments.”

On Juwan Johnson’s “Slow” Return:

“That’s not a knock on Juwan, that’s more of a positive on the other guys. Mycah, Johnny and Brenden are playing really good football. He made some great plays today in practice. To be successful comes in two parts. Working through the week and being successful and coming out on Saturday and being successful as well.”
