Marcus Arroyo, Offensive Players Preview Arizona

November 12, 2019

On Tuesday a number of offensive players and offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo met with media following practice. With the Ducks coming off a bye week the focus was on Arizona coming to town.

The last time we saw the Oregon offense they poured it on USC in Los Angeles after a slow start.

Below are some of the better questions from several. You can view the videos below or read our quotes posted below on several of the coaches and players.

Marcus Arroyo

On Playing vs Man Coverage:

“I think that's been a big point of emphasis going back to last year. Growing together, timing together. That’s been a big note to last year to this year.”

On Juwan Johnson:

“I think a lot of our guys have grown. A lot of guys have been dependable. Juwan is just a bigger guy. We all see he can present some mismatches. Good to see him coming back and healthy.”

On the Bye Week:

“I mean we do take a good deep dive into ourselves. Where we may be heading. What formations we’re locked into. Just taking a snapshot of yourself.”

On Coach Bo:

“Coach Bo’s done a good job. That room really has come along. He’s done a great job.”

On Offensive Identity:

“A physical brand of football that tries to create a downhill style of run game.”

Justin Herbert

On Arizona:

“They’re a talented team. They return 8 guys on defense. “

On Facing a New DC:

“It’s kind of tough. He’s only coached the 1 game, we’re going to watch that game as much as we can and get a feel for their defense.”

On the Loss to Arizona Last Year:

“It was a good learning experience for us all. They’re a really good team and they need all of our attention. I’m really excited about this game and getting back out there.”

On the Bye:

“I think there’s a good side and a bad side. We get our bodies back. A few of the offensive linemen needed some rest. I think we’ve done a good job this week getting back after it. I’m good. I’m excited.”

Juwan Johnson

On Getting Healthy:

“Definitely a change. From a high to a low. Just trying to stay neutral. I’m definitely getting excited just to play another game.”

On Jacob Breeland:

“He’s been a great influence and a great friend. He’s been a great friend ever since I got here.”

On Being ‘Feared’

“It’s just an emphasis we put on our group. That’s just something Cristobal preaches.”
