Oregon Football Recruiting

December 18, 2019

When Oregon signed Kayvon Thibodeaux last year it was a statement win on the recruiting trail. There have not been many times the Ducks have beat out national powers for top recruits, let alone USC.

Today was another massive notch in that belt for Mario Cristobal.

Moments ago on a live feed on ESPN, 5-Star linebacker Justin Flowe‍ announced his commitment to Oregon. The nation’s No. 4 player, No. 1 ranked inside linebacker and the top player in California picked the Ducks over USC, Clemson and others.

If that wasn’t another massive muscle flex by this Oregon staff I don’t know what is.

Flowe is an elite player nationally and an absolute difference-maker on the defensive side of the ball. He’s an absolute hitting machine and will be paired with fellow 5-Star linebacker Noah Sewell in this class.

For most of his recruitment many expected Flowe to sign with Clemson. Recently that shifted and Oregon was considered the slight favorite with USC posing a real dark-horse threat.

Mario Cristobal, Ken Wilson, Andy Avalos and most of the staff were able to put in the work and ultimately land the 5-Star backer.

Oregon is in pursuit of the No. 1 ranked class in the Pac-12, trailing Washington prior to his commitment. The addition of Flowe might just be enough to get Oregon back on top.

The first predictions to Oregon for 5-Star linebacker Justin Flowe were made on this very site. Led by Jonathan Charles, myself and Max Torres.
