Oregon MBB are Pac-12 Champs

March 7, 2020

Oregon athletics has pulled off the triple crown with the completion of the men’s basketball team winning a Pac-12 title. The Ducks beat Stanford Saturday night at Matt Knight arena on Senior night.

It wasn’t easy as Oregon took a 36-31 lead into halfime. Payton Pritchard led all scorers on his final home game with 29 points. Anthony Mathis chipped in with a strong 14 points while Will Richardson added 12 more.

Stanford offered a much more balanced scoring approach as four players tallied double digit points in the loss.

With the win Oregon has locked up the Pac-12 championship outright and will be the No. 1 seed in the Pac-12 tournament which begins Wednesday. Oregon has a first round bye and will face the winner of Oregon State vs Utah on Thursday.
