Ducks Lose OL Pledge

March 31, 2020

The Ducks have had a pretty strong run of early commits in the 2021 class. However on Tuesday night one of those verbal pledges backed off his commitment opting to continue looking at other programs.

Helix (Calif.) offensive lineman Josh Simmons committed to Oregon on January 20. It was viewed as a bit of a surprise given Simmons had yet to visit. The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder has continued to take local visits and rake in national offers with Michigan being the latest.

Oregon also has a commitment from center Jackson Light out of Utah. The Ducks are expected to sign a larger offensive line group in 2021.

Simmons noted he will continue to look at Oregon despite the de-commitment.
