Zooming: Oregon Commit Terrance Ferguson

June 27, 2020

The Ducks got some good news Thursday afternoon when 4 star tight end Terrance Ferguson picked Oregon from a lineup of hats that included finalists USC, Auburn, Wisconsin, and Tennessee. This was a big pickup for the Ducks for a variety of reasons.

Getting a recruiting win over a Pac 12 rival further cements Mario Cristobal’s status as an elite recruiter not only on the West Coast but across the country. Ferguson’s commitment makes it eight different states that Cristobal and his staff have explored to bring together arguably the most elite collection of talent in the entire Pac 12, and evidently, the West Coast.

Ferguson is a big addition because he adds to an already LOADED set of offensive weapons for quarterback commit Ty Thompson, joining All-Americans Moliki Matavao and Troy Franklin. The No. 3 player in Colorado is also incredibly dynamic. If you watch some of his highlights included in this interview, you often see him flexed out wide and lining up as a receiver, which speaks to his incredible athleticism. He can go up and get just about any pass, he’s slippery when trying to be tackled, and he can load up his hips to drive defenders into the dirt when blocking. He also possesses great speed for a 6-5 230 pound tight end, often leaving defensive backs that should be faster than him in the dust.

It’s more of the same with Ferguson, as he cited the family atmosphere and the strong relationships he’s developed with the staff as some of the reasons for his decision. To hear more about his decision, the class he sees Oregon building, as well of some of his top highlights, you can watch the full interview for free on our YouTube channel.
