Oregon Football Recruiting

Zooming: Terrell Tilmon

August 2, 2020

Oregon has made a habit of dipping into Texas for top talent, and this cycle was no different. In fact, the Ducks may have snagged a bit of a sleeper in 3-star (0.8668 on the 247Sports Composite) weak side defensive end Terrell Tilmon from Mansfield Timberview High in Arlington.

At 6-4 and 210 pounds, Tilmon is an intriguing prospect. He has long arms, good speed and excellent athleticism, all of which allow him to both rush off the edge and chase down ballcarriers all over the field.

Prior to committing to the Ducks in May, the No. 86 player in Texas drew some attention from such in-state schools as Baylor and SMU. Altogether, he racked up 20 offers.

Fortunately, the Ducks were able to get Tilmon on campus prior to the recruiting shutdown. That visit proved to be the difference maker, as he almost committed “on the spot.”

I sat down with the nation’s No. 42 weak side defensive end to break down his recruitment, what he likes about the Ducks and more.
