Pac-12 Postpones Season

August 11, 2020

The Big-10 made headlines Tuesday afternoon with its announcement to push football to the Spring. Which immediately brought attention to the Pac-12 who was expected to make an announcement also on Tuesday.

Sources have confirmed to the Pac-12, which will hold a web call/video at approximately 1:30 PM PST, will also cancel or postpone its season until Spring.

There has been no definitive timetable put on when a season will be played in the Spring. Sources have indicated to ScoopDuck for the past few weeks the Sept. 26 season start that was recently announced was unlikely to happen. Several other plans have been offered but with little to no discussion on how to implement those plans.

For weeks we’ve (ScoopDuck) been talking about the likelihood of a January/February season start as being the most realistic option for the conference. January would be the start of camp, and February the start of the actual season. Should universities and the conference feel safe enough, a simple 8 game conference-only schedule with a conference championship and playoff could end by May.

That schedule would likely eliminate Spring ball or at the very least, shorten it. However it would likely not impact a regular start to the 2021 Fall schedule.

The NFL has stated it will not delay the NFL draft in late April/early May for a delayed college football season.

Stick with us as this situation continues to develop. We will add to this story following the official announcement from the conference.
