Offensive Trio Meets with Media

November 17, 2020

On Tuesday several Oregon offensive members met with media for a brief interview session with media.

This week quarterback Tyler Shough, offensive lineman George Moore and receiver Jaylon Redd talked about Saturday’s win and the team.

Here are the top replies from each. We will be sure to add video to these quotes once available.

Tyler Shough

On 2nd Half Adjustments:

“Just executing the game plan from practice. We just make practice as hard as we can so when we see it in the game, we can just play.”

On Expanding the Playbook:

“We’re still trying to get our own feel for it. We have our set offense, we’re not really trying to game plan for the defense each week.”

On Getting Comfortable as Starter:

“There’s that game mode feeling. You get a level of confidence when you’re going in and out on every series.”

They’re really tough defense. They fly around to the ball. They have great personnel and great coaching. They bring a lot of different looks. They’re going to run to the ball a lot.”

On the Run Game:

“The running game, that’s a testament to our line and our running backs seeing the holes. We have a great group of running backs. I’m really proud of those guys, we still want to bump those numbers up.”

On Receivers:

“They work super hard throughout the week. I’ve been super comfortable getting reps with them. I’m looking forward to them elevating the game this week.”

George Moore

On 2nd Half Explosions:

“WIth us coming out hot in the second half, in practice, all the coaches, we come out and we play physical, we do everything we’re gonna do in the game in practice. The game adjustments are just great.”

On Waiting His Turn to Start:

“It’s a great opportunity. Anybody always have to wait for opportunities.”

On Who’s Stepped Up:

“Everybody stepped up from everyone that hasn’t been playing. Everyone works hard.”

“That’s a great program over there. They had a great game against Cal-Berkeley. They run the ball. They’re very well coached.”

On Lines Progress:

“Just being able to go out there with those guys and know the guy to my left or my right, they’re going to get that job done. We just never really take a step back. We just take a step forward. Hats off to coach Mirabal. He pushes us so hard. He wants us to be great.”

On Offensive LIne Rotation:

“We do that in practice every day. We do the same rotations we do in the game. It helps letting everyone get their reps and being able to perform. We all work hard. It helps us all.”

Jaylon Redd

On Receivers Progress this Season:

“Confidence. Swag. Just getting comfortable in the game plan each week.”

On Potentially Contracting Covid:

“Here we trust the processes we have going on. But stuff could happen.”

On Tyler Shough:

“I wouldnt say I’m surprised. It’s different things, where I felt he would be comfortable in different moments.”

On Big Catch at End of First Half:

“Our team needed some kind of spark. I felt like our D was holding it down. That play right there kind of got us back to the work of things.”
