The purpose of this article is to declare the differences (at least the perceived differences) based on the substantial research I’ve done of the Tim DeRuyter and Andy Avalos defenses and how they will affect the depth chart and personnel on hand for 2021. 

For the purpose of this breakdown, I am going to start with the base defense DeRuyter has run the last decade and not the rumored four-man front. (More on that later, I promise; I have a method.
