Tuesday Presser: Spencer Webb, Anthony Brown, Patrick Herbert

April 27, 2021

Tuesday afternoon several Oregon players met with media following practice. The Ducks practice today and Thursday before Saturday's Spring finale, the Spring game in Auten stadium.

Mario Cristobal sent out Spencer Webb, Anthony Brown and Patrick Herbert  to speak with media via Zoom.

Here are the best responses from them during Tuesday's Q&A session.

Spencer Webb

On Playing this Spring:

“It's been a blessing. Last year I had to sit out. It's good to be around the guys again too. It's been fun.”

On TE's in Moorheads offense:

“Getting us out in space. There's a bunch of wrinkles. I'm excited to see where it goes. It's a great offense.”

On Improving/Blocking:

“I like blocking a lot more now than I do running routes because it's fun."

On Injury:

“I broke my collarbone in camp. I feel better, I'm all good, I'm stronger. I didn't have to get surgery.”

On Freshmen TE's:

“Those are some ballers. Terrance and Mo, I'm really proud of them. They're hitting people, making plays."

Anthony Brown

On Decision to Return:

“Just having faith, sticking it out here was my best option. I felt like there was a lot more to take from this opportunity.”

On Learning Offense this Spring:

“I feel like the reps compared to last year has a huge role in where I'm at understanding the offense. Repetition is a big thing. Mental reps and physical reps don't compare.”

On Young/Backup QB's:

“I see a lot of potential. They're all really, really talented. It's going to be fun watching Oregon after I leave here.”

On Leaving Oregon After Last Season:

“Considerations weren't too serious. I just had to talk to my family and my coaches about what I wanted to do.”

On Spring Game:

“Almost like a childhood dream. Oregon and UF were my dream schools growing up. The Spring game is a big opportunity to me. My parents are going to come out and see me play in a stadium I always wanted to play in.”

On Offenisve Line:

“They're working their tails off. They don't make excuses and they just keep pushing along.”

On TE's:

“Spencer Webb has always been there. Patrick Herbert is doing really well.  I haven't really worked with the young guys yet but I will."

On Plans Following Saturday:

“After Saturday I'll just be here in Oregon working with the guys."

Patrick Herbert

On Last Year:

“Last year I took away your season can be taken away at any point. This year I’m just ready to go.”

On Growth:

“I'm a completely different player. I've learned a lot about blocking, I've put on a lot of weight. Learned more about routes.”

On Bobby Williams:

“Coach Williams is awesome. He's got some experience.”

On Spring game:

“Saturday menas a lot, family gets to come. I'm excited.”
