Woodie III headed to Sheldon

June 16, 2017

Sheldon continues to get richer with the changes at Oregon. This time it is the son of assistant Raymond Woodie Jr, Raymond Woodie III making the transfer to Sheldon.

Woodie will join fellow 2019 4-star quarterback Michael Johnson Jr who has also made the transfer.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder is the No. 286 ranked player in his class per 247Sports. Woodie III also has offers from Tennessee, Florida and USC in addition to Oregon.

"Me and my family decided it was best for me to move out with them and just go to school in Eugene," Woodie told ScoopDuck.com. "I plan on heading out in early July and getting ready for this upcoming season at Sheldon."

With Michael Johnson Jr seemingly the favorite to land the quarterback job, Woodie explained his role at Sheldon.

"I plan on coming in and playing safety and receiver at Sheldon. They could also end up using me at some wildcat QB like I did at Wiregrass."

Woodie III also announced his intent on twitter Friday afternoon. IMG Academy was also making a strong push to land the 4-star transfer.
