Carrington Out At Oregon

July 14, 2017

It won't come to the surprise of many but Willie Taggart has informed Darren Carrington he is no longer a part of the program.

The move was expected following his latest run-in with the Eugene police department. Carrington has had a checkered past at Oregon which ultimately forced Taggart's hand leading to the dismissal.

The following is a release from Willie Taggart to the media:

"I have visited with Darren Carrington and informed him that he is no longer a member of our program. We will always consider Darren a Duck and support him in any way we can. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

On the field Carrington was one of Oregon's most seasoned receivers. Last season he showed flashes of his potential making several big-time catches.

The Ducks will be forced to find a vertical threat to replace Carrington this season. Although Charles Nelson, Alex Ofodile and Dillon Mitchell return, Carrington was Oregon's best weapon to stretch the field vertically.
