Offensive Line

Let's talk about the offensive line for this upcoming season.

Offensive line coach, Mario Cristobal, said during fall camp that he thinks 10-11 offensive linemen will a good amount of playing time this season.

Starting 5 (my guess):

LT: Tyrell Crosby (SR)
LG: Shane Lemieux (R SO)
C: Jake Hanson (R SO)
RG: Jake Pisarcik (R SR)
RT: Calvin Throckmortin (R SO)

Like Corpatty mentioned the other six that should see a good amount of playing time are:

Brady Aiello
Doub Brenner
George Moore
Logan Bathke
Jacob Capra
Evan Voeller

Improvements:

Last season Oregon had freshman starting all over the board and the position it showed the most was the offensive line. They just didn't have any experience. Week after week the line struggled to work as a cohesive unit, and it showed as Herbert was forced to work with less time. Totaling up 24 sacks in conference play alone. Some of last years freshman starters will reprise their roles including Lemieux, Hanson, and Throckmortin while senior Tyrell Crosby will return to the line after suffering an injury last year, as well as red shirt senior Pisarcik. What this means for the line is that they will get their leader back in Crosby as well as have gained experience from last season. The Ducks also have experienced back ups in Brenner and Voeller.

Fall Camp:

Seeing Crosby back on the field in uniform should be a welcome sight for Duck fans, and so far he is performing as expected. He is not only the leader of this offensive line unit but also one of the leaders of the team as he is one of only a few seniors. Another lineman that is having a good camp is red shirt freshman Logan Bathke. He has seen more snaps as Capra does not seem 100%. I'm excited to see the growth that Mario Cristobal will continue to bring to this group this fall.

Losses:

In my opinion there really are not any losses that will severely hurt the offensive line this off season. The offensive line lost Cameron Hunt, as well as Zac Morgan. Hunt provided experience on the line last year as the only senior to play for most of the games.

Led by senior Tyrell Crosby, I think the offensive line learned from the mistakes they made last year and are ready to capitalize off the new energy Taggart has brought to the program.
